Five reasons you must create a website for your company

It is 2026 and a surprising number of established businesses still operate without a website they control. The reasoning is usually sound on its own terms — the work comes by referral, the social page does the job — but it concedes something significant.

1. You own the relationship

A platform can change its reach, its terms or its existence without consulting you. Every business that built its audience on a network that later throttled organic reach learned this expensively. Your own domain, your own list, your own analytics.

2. Search is where evaluation happens

Even referred prospects search for you before making contact. What they find in that search — or fail to find — sets the frame for the first conversation.

3. It answers the questions you keep answering

Every business has a set of questions it fields repeatedly. A good site handles those before the conversation starts, which means the conversation starts further along.

4. It is the only channel you can measure honestly

You can see which pages were read before an enquiry, which content preceded a purchase, and which routes go nowhere. That feedback loop does not exist on borrowed platforms.

5. It sets the expectation of competence

Fair or not, buyers infer operational quality from digital presence. A slow, dated, inaccessible site says something about how you run things — and so does a fast, current, well-maintained one.
